Peggy Burton

Peggy Burton, Operations , processes daily trades, opens new accounts and handles ongoing maintenance of client accounts and helps resolve client questions/problems.  Peggy has experience in all phases of operations including front, middle and back office as well as cash management experience. Prior to joining Martin Nelson, Peggy worked at Washington Mutual and USBank.


Jim Blumenthal

Jim Blumenthal, Vice President/Senior Municipal Underwriter, serves as the Lead Investment Banker and primary contact for firm clients.  Mr. Blumenthal serves as the financing manager and is responsible for assisting clients with any long-term financing objectives and conducts workshops and presentations as needed.  Mr. Blumenthal has issued or supported more than $4.5 billion in tax-exempt financings over the last nineteen years. His achievements include organizing and leading efforts to utilize multiple cost effective capital funding sources for selected financing needs at a large national investment bank in addition to the acquisition of high inaugural ratings for several local governments. Prior to joining Martin Nelson & Company, Inc., Mr. Blumenthal served in the Municipal Securities Divisions of UBS Securities LLC and Bank of America Securities LLC.  Mr. Blumenthal received a B.A. in Finance from Seattle Pacific University and currently holds the FINRA series 7, series 52, series 63 and 79 securities licenses.


Stephen T. Chess, Registered Representative, is a Seattle native and has been in a securities broker since 1980. Prior to 1980, Steve was a cost accountant at Boeing from 1973-1980. He received his B.A. in Business Administration at the University of Washington in 1972 and an MBA from the University of Puget Sound in 1980.

Roger Chess, Registered Representative, is a Seattle native and has been a securities broker since 1984. He specializes in value stocks.


Robert Kollack

Robert Kollack, Registered Representative, started in the brokerage business over 45 years ago. First at Foster& Marshall for about five years then at National Securities for over 34 years in which he became shareholder, President and Chairman at different times. In 2005 he started to work with Martin Nelson. He is specializing in income ideas for his clients, and enjoys his Independence.


Robert W. Edwards

Robert Edwards, Registered Representative, Since 1978, Bob has developed personalized investment portfolios using tax free municipal bonds and diverse stock holdings targeting a long term investment horizon. Prior to joining Martin Nelson & Company in 1989, he had worked through National Securities. Bob graduated from the University of Washington in 1973 with both a degree in physics and a degree in aeronautical engineering which he put to work at Boeing Aerospace as a staff propulsion engineer prior to working on investments.

Bob’s civic activities include terms on the Renton City Council and the Port of Seattle Commission while also serving as the president of the Association of Washington Cities and president of the Washington Public Ports Association.


Andrew Face

Andrew Face, Vice President, Investment Banking
Andrew Face joined the Public Finance Group of Martin Nelson & Co. in October of 2013, adding depth to the team in the financing and business strategy arena.  Andrew began his public finance career in 1989 and has broad experience orchestrating a variety bond offerings.  Andrew’s background includes developing business opportunities resulting in the successful execution of transactions. Mr. Face has worked on more than 100 such financings.  Mr. Face’s strong technical and communication talents enable organizations to better understand the financing options available to them, resulting in the execution of more prudent financial transactions. 

Mr. Face’s investment banking experience had been focused toward educational, project based and pooled financings. These types of financings benefit from Andrew’s strong technical expertise in financial modeling, the business acumen of his CPA background, and his ability to coordinate and communicate the financing process.  Examples of his successes include:

Most recently, Mr. Face has gained experience in the private equity and startup finance arenas, adding skills and insights which will benefit municipal and not-for-profit issuers.  Previously, Andrew has served as Vice President of public finance for Prudential Securities and Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation as well as an auditor for Arthur Andersen and Co., where he earned his CPA. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Accounting.


Bung Le, Registered Representative, has been with Martin Nelson & Company since 2005. Bung was born and raised in Vietnam. He has been a registered representative since 1983. He specializes in equities  and options and provides a high level of personalized service to all clients.


Peter MacKintosh

Peter MacKintosh, Bond Trader, joined Martin Nelson and Co in 2006. He entered the securities industry in 1975 moving to the municipal bond sector in 1976. His past associations include Lehman Brothers, Shearson, Dain Rauscher and Foster & Marshall Company. His extensive experience allows him to provide continuous information on changing conditions in the tax exempt market. Peter is a graduate of the University of Washington.


Jan W. Jansen

Jan W. Jansen, Mr. Jansen joined Martin Nelson & Co. in January of 2014 as the Manager of the newly established branch in Lake Oswego Oregon. Jan brings with him over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. His career began in San Francisco, followed by 15 years in Seattle and the last 20 years in Portland. His experiences range from large dealer bank to New York based wire house to co-principal of a northwest broker dealer as well as several years with a prominent northwest registered investment advisor. He has managed numerous activities including, trading, underwriting, public finance as well as retail and institutional sales. Jan has particular expertise in all dimensions of the municipal bond markets. Jan graduated in Business Administration/Economics from the University of Puget Sound.


Jan W. Jansen

Ronald O. Nelson joined Martin Nelson & Co,, Inc. in 2015 after graduating from Western Washington University with a Bachelor's degree from the College of Business and Economics with a focus in Finance. He is incredibly excited to be working with his father, and looks forward to following in the footsteps of his grandfather whose Company has spanned across three generations. He is a registered representative and investment advisor of the firm and is currently working towards attaining his Certified Financial Planners License (CFP).

Ronald is very knowledgeable and is passionate about fostering personal relationships with clients. He loves working with people and helping them solve their financial problems by using goal oriended strategies that focus on individual needs.
